"Hi reader, how are you today? Oh, me? I'm pretty cool. Thanks for asking; you're so kind. Without going into much detail let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Michelle L. Forbes and I consider myself to be a down to earth, loyal, friendly, God-fearing, selfless, giving, caring individual. I am a God lover, Pastor, Counselor and CEO of Forbes Legacy International. I am the mother of three (3) beautiful, unique children and the wife of the most handsome husband in the world. Today I share a few nuggets with you about strategies and approaches I use in my motherhood to ensure that my motherly responsibilities are performed consistent with my God-given assignment to train, protect and provide for my children."
See...I told you! Now you have another friend!
By the way...feel free to share your responses, strategies and lessons with us in the comments. We'd really love to hear from you.
Now, let's get into Michelle's head for a bit. This promises to be short, sweet and full of meat!
Q. What does motherhood mean to you?
A. Taking responsibility of the souls God has placed in my care and ensuring that they are grown in the fear and admonition of God, His Word and His presence. To ensure that they are well built for the world and to fulfill their purpose.
Q. How has motherhood nurtured you?
A. I became more unselfish, where, in my attendance to my children, I would seek more to ensure that their needs are met above mine.
Q. What do you enjoy most about motherhood?
A. Playing with and loving on my children -- rubbing them down and kissing them up, even though at their present ages they run. I run them down and let them have it.
Q. Why are mothers important?
A. Moms are needed to nurture, bring clarity and focus to children and the household.
Q. Do you have any words of advice to existing and potential mothers?
A. To Potential Mothers I would say, start training them from they are in your belly by reading to them the word amongst other materials as you are led to; playing life building music and praying over them and before they are conceived by - making a list of the type of child/children you desire to have, placing it on your vision/dream board and declaring it and praying over it each day. To Existing Mothers I would say be sure to never lose faith and hope. Never stop going before God concerning your children. Never stop declaring the Word of God over their lives. Be sure that despite what or who they manifest, call them who God says they are. Keep www.focusonthefamily.org as a close friend and read and research on how you can sharpen your motherly skills.
Are you a mother? What do you enjoy most about motherhood? And just in case your aren't, what are you most looking forward to?
We'll leave you with a quote from Sophia Loren: "When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. A mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child".
